Hello!!!

Hey everyone! I haven't written in a while, just wanted to write and check in! Motherhood is the most fantastic experience I have ever been thru, Bronx makes me laugh and smile everyday! I finally left the house for Fall Out Boy's show on Monday night, which was so good. Their new songs sound awesome live, I can't wait for their new record! And last night I went to Pete and Bronx's godfather Travis' artshow. It's amazing to see how many artistic outlets those boys have! Made me very proud. It was an awesome show and so many of our friends and family came out to support. I hope you guys have a great holiday, I can't wait to spend it with my new family. Christmas tree goes up tomorrow!

New Moon Movie Coming In 2009

Summit Entertainment has tentatively slated Nov. 20, 2009, as the release date for New Moon, the Twilight sequel, which means any director who signs on to replace Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has to be in Vancouver by Dec. 15 to begin 12 weeks of preproduction before a mid-March start date. Reports have speculated that Hardwicke was fired for being difficult on set, but sources close to her suggest Summit's aggressive production schedule turned her off. "She'd love to do the sequel if she could do it better than Twilight,” says one. “It became clear that Summit didn’t have those same priorities."

Indeed, at press time the second movie appeared to have little more than a rough first-draft working script. As Summit’s production president Erik Feig told EW during Twilight’s record-busting first weekend, “There is that first...script. All the finesse that turns a screenplay into a movie hasn’t happened yet.” Two weeks later, Summit is saying it’s happy with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s progress.

Another of Hardwicke’s primary concerns was that hunky vampire Edward remains MIA throughout New Moon’s middle portion. In her own opening-weekend interview, she told EW, “You have to get the chemistry as strong between Jacob and Bella as it was between Bella and Edward. You also have to do something with that arc: She’s in love with somebody, he disappears, she falls in love with someone else, and the first guy comes back. Movies like Pearl Harbor have tried it. It absolutely didn’t work.”

With or without Hardwicke, Summit faces other snags. Two sources tell EW the studio doesn’t want to rehire baby-faced Taylor Lautner (pictured) as Jacob, though Lautner’s agent has apparently reached out to the imaging company behind The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in an attempt to demonstrate to Summit how a digitally bulked-up Lautner could work. (Summit says it won’t make a decision until a new filmmaker is on board.) There’s also the matter of finding a cast of Native American actors to play Jacob’s werewolf clan — a difficult challenge Hardwicke was also faced with before settling on Lautner, who isn’t completely Native American. And with a slightly increased budget of $50 million — much of which is assumed will go to leads asking for heftier paydays, location shoots in Italy, and ramped-up F/X — Summit will have to scrimp somewhere.

So what director would want to take on such a big headache? Well, at press time, an offer was out to Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass), who put Summit on the map years ago when its foreign sales operation made tons of cash off of his first film, American Pie. (One source says Weitz has already had conversations with below-the-line crew for New Moon.) “We are in a recession,” reminds one Hollywood insider. “It’s a hit franchise. Whoever steps into it is guaranteed a $100 million gross. Everyone wants this movie.” Adds an exec at another studio, “You’d have to have a very high standard for art, hate the movie business, and hate money to walk off this sequel.”

Lauren Conrad want to make sure that Heidi is OK

Even Lauren Conrad was concerned when ex-BFF Heidi Montag eloped with Spencer Pratt in Mexico last month.

"Lauren actually called me right when she found out, which was the same day I found out," Holly Montag told Usmagazine.com Tuesday at the Ubisoft Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party Video Game launch in West Hollywood. "She was just checking on everybody and making sure the family was OK."

Holly said she doesn't know what Conrad thought of the surprise nuptials.

"She has not said anything to me about it," Holly said. "She just wants to make sure Heidi is OK."

Holly, who spent the past weekend with Heidi and their mom, Darlene Egelhoff, also told Us that Heidi apologized for waiting so long to tell them she got married.

Can you believe Lauren Conrad was friends with all these people?

"I think she felt bad that she didn't tell us right away, and we had to find out through other sources," Holly said. "But it was her choice, and we are all really supportive of whatever she decides to do."

Holly added that her mom and Spencer have been communicating.

She said Heidi and Spencer have been talking about having a big wedding ceremony soon.

Desperate Housewives Surprise: Will It Really Go On for Nine Seasons?

"What Marc said today to the crew is that he would like to extend the show through season nine," an ABC insider who was on set for the announcement tells me. "But there are no deals in place yet."

A source who works on the show tells me, "We've been talking with the studio and the network about the conceptual possibilities of additional seasons, but it's still dependent on a lot of things like cast willingness, ratings, etc." Still, "It sure seems like it could happen!"

Housewives is not yet picked up beyond its current fifth season; however, I'm told it is "highly likely" McPherson will continue the show as long as possible if the ratings stay strong.

In an otherwise bleak TV landscape, Desperate has enjoyed big ratings this season, second only to Dancing With the Stars, with an average 16 million viewers on Sunday night. (Yep, it's even come in higher thanGrey's Anatomy.)

"There was definitely a collective sigh of relief on set," says one insider who was there today for Cherry's announcement. "Given the way the economy is going and how other good shows are getting canceled, I think everyone is definitely relieved to know that their jobs are safe."

In July, Cherry told reporters: "I've made the decision that after seven years I will probably keel over in a hump. I love my baby; I love working with these gals, but I'm going to take it for seven years, and we're going to get out while people still like us."

Sources tell me Cherry's new motivation to carry on is thanks in large part to the creative resurgence that has followed this season's five-year time leap forward. "In a lot of ways, it's like we are writing for a whole new show," executive producer Bob Daily told us at the beginning of the season.

When word broke that a Gossip Girl spin-off was in the works, fans of the popular CW show were abuzz with speculation over which current cast members would leave the hit series for its new sister show.

A network insider says the spin-off will center around the younger lives of Blake Lively and Penn Badgely's on-screen parents, played by Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle.

"The show will focus on the early romance between Lily and Rufus," says the insider. "It begins when they first meet, during a time when Rufus and his band are at the height of their career. The show will follow the high society and rock 'n' roll lifestyle in New York."

And GG fans need not worry! The source denies rumors that an original cast member will be leaving the show to join the spin-off. Instead, "two new actors will be hired to play the young Lily and Rufus. Producers are planning to introduce the new couple during a flashback scene in an upcoming episode of Gossip Girl."

The insider adds the new show is slated to start filming in February.
